In a Premier League season full of twists, turns, shocks and surprises, no team has encapsulated the unpredictability of football better than Leicester City. Just months after surviving a relegation scuffle, the Foxes found themselves scaling the peak of the table in the English top flight.
By each passing week came the questions, when would this Leicester dream run come to an end? When will they slip back down in the positions? How long until they cooled off? After limping through the festive period acquiring two points from a possible nine in their three most recent fixtures, those questions remain barely answered.
As Arsenal and Manchester City begin to really up the ante in their bid to claim the illustrious title, Leicester will have to keep up the pace, although the envious thing about their situation is that they are under no pressure at all. They secured their place for another season a long time ago, they've reached the so-called magical point threshold too. Now it's just a case of seeing how well they do.
But every fan can dream. That's the right of each supporter in the beautiful game. In comparison to the financial muscle of the elite clubs in the league, Leicester's resources are rather thin. It's probably why the close proximity of fixtures is making them seem rather sluggish.

You don't however, need to be a Leicester fan to recall that the fire is never really put out in that part of the East Midlands. On many occasions they have been down, but not out. Their relentless spirit and unparalleled character has wowed all spectators on many occasions.
Since they started in such a prolific manner, they remain in a good position to keep going forward. Why not? They have virtually nothing to lose. Unless they lose a majority of the remainder of their games, this season will be seen as an extravagant success under the tutelage of Ranieri; no one could have seen this coming.
Let's not forget that Leicester remain prone to the circling bigger sharks in the proverbial Premier League tank. The search for a centre-forward who can find his scoring boots reliably and often heats up by the day, meaning that their record-breaking euphoric Englishman Jamie Vardy could be a name on many transfer target lists.
His magical teammate Riyad Mahrez could be in a similar situation. His dynamic play-making style and mind-boggling skills is another imperative element to the searing success of the Foxes. Alongside Vardy, a partnership has been fabricated which must be kept in tact if Leicester want to keep their high hopes alive.

That therefore faces two obstacles: injuries and the transfer window. With a bulk of games still to come, something of which footballers playing in the Championship less than two years ago may not have grown accustom to, their players must be kept healthy. And like most aspects in life, they need that touch of luck.
In terms of the transfer market, they must simply stand their ground, standing up to the big dogs and prioritising a short-term cash injection over the loss of a vital player. Let's not forget about the supporting cast either, from Drinkwater to Schmeichel to Okazaki and many more who share the same fuelling to please the passionate fans of the King Power Stadium.
So, it's now about getting through January and taking each game as it comes. At the moment they can begin to envision European football as a challenge for the Foxes and maybe strengthening themselves.
Tottenham, who are making a bit of a rise for themselves and could be another obstacle in their battle for a title, are the next opponents as part of a back-to-back trip to White Hart Lane with the other being in the FA Cup. Aston Villa then Stoke are poised next, allowing them to regain some momentum. If the results keep coming, the unbelievable dream may become that little more believable.
