Barcelona B being relegated in a season where Barca have already done the double and look set to complete a treble is quite incredible but it sums up the problems at the club off the field and the lack of players coming through from La Masia is a real problem and the B team being relegated to the third division hits home a very alarming message.
Joining Barcelona B in the third tier of Spanish Football next season will be Recreativo Huelva and Sabadell with the final relegation place to be decided on the final day of the season as Santander and Osasuna fight for escape.
Relegation battle: What's to be decided
Racing Santander have the seventh worst defence in Liga Adelante this season and the sixth worst attack and sit in the final relegation spot going into the final weekend behind Osasuna and have won just four of their last thirteen games losing the other nine.
Racing Santander have won just two of their last nine away games drawing one and losing the other six but 19 of their 41 points this season have come on their travels and they sit just outside the top ten on away records alone.
They face Albacete who are mid-table and with a few more wins this season they would be on the brink of reaching the play-offs and with just six defeats from their twenty home games this season they've proved that they can be a tough nut to crack at home.
Albacete's recent home form backs that up too with just one defeat from their last eleven home games with them drawing three and winning the other seven and they have scored ten of those eleven and conceded in six of them conceding twelve.
Santander may be three points behind Osasuna with one game remaining but their head to head advantage is to perfection with them winning both games against Osasuna this season both by the same 2-0 scoreline and it could come back to haunt Osasuna come full time next Sunday.
Osasuna were relegated from La Liga last season and yet now head into the final weekend of the Liga Adelante 2014/15 season with the possiblity of another relegation and relegation to the third tier of Spanish Football.
Osasuna unfortunately for them play away from home on the final day and I say unfortunately because they have the third worst away record in Liga Adelante this season with just two wins from their twenty home games this season with twelve of those twenty home games ending in defeat.
Osasuna's recent away form sums up their dreadful away record too with them winning none of their last nine away games and drawing one and losing the other eight conceding in all nine and scoring in just three of those nine.
Osasuna face Sabadell who are second bottom and already relegated with the joint second worst defensive record in Liga Adelante this season and who also have the fourth worst home record in Adelante this season with just seven wins from their twenty home games.
Sabadell's home form of late could be worse though and they've lost three of their last nine home games including their last two and won three of those nine drawing the other three, they've scored in seven of those nine and conceded in eight of those nine.
Race for the playoffs: What's to be decided
The remaining play-off place looked to be Zaragoza's until they lost their last game at home to Las Palmas and Ponferradina won 1-0 away to relegation threatened Racing Santander to send the final play off spot to the final weekend.
Real Zaragoza are steeped in history and belong in La Liga but to throw this final play-off spot away on the final would be absolutely ridiculous because not only has it looked safe for the last two weeks or so but Zaragoza should be higher than sixth in this division.
The fact they travel away to Leganes who come into the game after winning 4-2 away at Barcelona B and the fact that their away record is quite poor with just five wins on their travels this season from their twenty away games so far will increase their nerves further.
Zaragoza's recent away form is poor to say the least with just two wins from their last nine away games, three defeats and four draws with them conceding in seven of those and scoring in six of those nine.
Leganes sit in the top ten and just five points away from Zaragoza so this is going to be very uncomfortable and nervy for Zaragoza and if Leganes had picked up one more win than they have done this season they could have been in a very strong position here.
Leganes home form is very impressive with ten wins, seven draws and just three defeats from their twenty home games this season and with the third best home defensive record this season in Liga Adelante Zaragoza know that they'll need to be at their best here to save them relying on what Ponferradina do.
Leganes recent home form is pretty decent too with just two defeats from their last nine home games with them winning three of those nine and drawing the other four scoring in six of those nine and conceding in six of them too.
Ponferradina host Alcorcon who sit just outside the top ten and have an okay away record with five wins, eight draws and seven defeats from their twenty away games this season and their recent away form may be dominated by draws but it shows they can keep it tight on their travels and make it difficult for the opposition.
Alcorcon have lost just two of their last nine away games winning two and drawing the other five scoring in five of those nine and conceding in six of them keeping clean sheets in three of their last nine home games.
Ponferradina have an excellent home record that is the joint fifth best home record in Liga Adelante this season with Girona with 11 wins, 6 draws and just three defeats from their twenty home games this season.
Ponferradina have the fourth best attacking record at home this season and one of the best home defensive records this season too and their recent home form is good too with them winning five of their last nine home games without conceding, losing two and drawing two.
Ponferradina have scored in eight of their last nine home games and conceded in four of them keeping clean sheets in five of those nine and they've kept five clean sheets in their last five victories at home winning by two goals or more in three of those five.
RACE FOR THE FINAL AUTOMATIC PROMOTION SPOT TO REACH LA LIGA-GIRONA AND GIJON FACE BATTLE TO REACH LA LIGA IN SIZZLING HEAT
The battle for the final automatic promotion spot is hotting up now and as I've said all along it has gone to the final day of the season for it to be decided and that is absolute testament to Girona and Sporting Gijon who have been fantastic this season and incredibly consistent and whichever one misses out on this final automatic promotion spot really does deserve to go up through the play-offs.
We'll start with Sporting Gijon though who go into the final day outside the two promotion spots with the first one done and dusted with Betis getting it and going up as Champions and full credit to them and Pepe Mel.
Sporting Gijon have really impressed me this season because they are a vibrant side, an attacking side who play an excellent brand of football and have plenty of goals in them but ultimately it's their away record that's hampered them because to draw thirteen of twenty away games is just not good enough if you want to get promoted automatically.
Sporting Gijon have the best home record in the division this season and it's helped them get to where they have got to but their poor away record could well send them into the play-offs instead of automatic promotion to La Liga.
Sporting Gijon have one of the best attacking records in Liga Adelante this season and have the best defence in the whole division this season too with just twenty seven goals conceded but their away record as I say hampers them hugely.
You can say why is it poor because they've only lost once on their travels this season and won six times but again I'll repeat myself by saying that thirteen draws from twenty away games is just nowhere near good enough for a side with automatic promotion hopes.
Their away form of late just backs me up further with them winning three of their last nine away games, losing one and drawing the other five and they have scored in just four of those nine conceding in just three of those nine.
Gijon travel to face the worst team you could possibly pick to face on the final day of the season when you need a win to give you any chance of automatic promotion and that's Pepe Mel's Real Betis who are Champions with 84 points.
Real Betis have the third best home record this season in the division aswell as having the best attacking record at home this season one of the best defensive records at home this season with just fifteen goals conceded.
Fourteen wins, three draws and three defeats has played a big part in their promotion but so has their consistency, their manager Pepe Mel who has done a fantastic job and when your strikeforce racks up 50 goals between them you can certainly expect success.
Real Betis's form of late at home is excellent with them winning six of their last nine home games, drawing two and losing one and they've scored in their last sixteen home games so Gijon are going to need at least two to win here.
Real Betis have conceded in just six of their last sixteen home games and scored 33 goals in total and conceded just nine and Gijon know they have a tough task here and even a win may not be enough as their destiny is out of their hands.
Now we head to the Girona side and what a wonderful story this would be if Girona can pull off automatic promotion to La Liga for the first time ever in their whole history and give us three Catalan clubs in La Liga next season.
To see Barca head up to Girona and play in that 11,000 seater stadium in a Catalan Derby would be absolutely fantastic and would be a true fairytale and if they do get promoted automatically then it's an absolutely incredible achievement.
I do feel that Girona's best chance of promotion is automatically and I've said that all season because I feel that in the play-offs they'd be knocked out and that's not disrespecting them by any means but this is a great chance and it's in their hands going into the final day and they simply have to take it.
Girona's home record shows 11 wins, six draws and three defeats and they have one of the best home defensive records this season and one of the best home attacking records this season too and that is always a very good recipe for success.

Girona's home form of late shows no defeats in their last nine home games and five wins and four draws with them scoring in seven of them and conceding in five of those nine and they also have the third best attacking record in Liga Adelante this season too.Lugo are the opposition for Girona and they sit in mid-table with nothing really to play for and with the fourth worst away record in the division with two wins, six draws and twelve defeats from their twenty away games this season.
They have one of the worst defensive records on their travels this season and with 16 goals scored on their travels they have one of the worst attacking records on their travels in the whole division this season.
Lugo's recent away form is quite dreadful too with them winning just one of their last nine away games losing six of them and drawing the other two and have scored in five of those nine conceding in seven of them.
This Liga Adelante season will come to a truly wonderful climax next Sunday in heat of close to 35 degrees and this won't be the end of things as there's a third promotion spot via the play-offs to be decided and those play-offs will be the usual rollercoaster ride full of drama, excitement, nerves and passion.
Away goals count in the Liga Adelante play-offs meaning that it's very important to have the second leg at home in my opinion because if you score in the first leg and bring an away goal back and in a worst case scenario are losing by one you only need to win 1-0 to progress, it's risky but having the first leg away is very important in my opinion.
As for the relegation battle I believe that Racing Santander will be the one to fill the final relegation spot because even if Santander can record a victory I can see Osasuna getting a victory away to Sabadell and they only need a point to guarantee victory, it'll be a shame to see either drop because both are great clubs but Osasuna will survive and breath a huge sigh of relief knowing that next season has to be a big improvement and this season must be a wake up call for the club.
The final play-off place I expect both sides to win their games and that will see Real Zaragoza reach the play-offs by securing the final play-off space but there could well be many twists and turns throughout the evening but Zaragoza's quality should see them through a tough assignment away to Leganes.
The final automatic promotion spot will go to Girona and even if they do somehow fail to win then a Gijon victory will see Gijon promoted and Girona head into the play-offs and Girona will have to cope with the pressure of a winnable home game knowing that victory is a must because they can't assume Betis will win because that's a very very dangerous and risky path to head down.
I see Girona winning their game against Lugo narrowly and Sporting Gijon losing to a Betis side who will want to sign off the season at home with a victory before lifting the Liga Adelante trophy infront of their home fans and having yet again another big party in the Andalusian Capital.
The final games of the season will be played on Sunday 7th June 2015—5pm UK time, 6pm Spanish time.
